The Ritz??? Are you referring to movie nights at Monte Tabor where the
priests and nuns sat in the back row kissing and necking???? Somehow I
don't remember you or Kathy at this location.... you're probably referring
to the theater in downtown Managua and yes, those were fun times, for the
most part, except for times when I had to work feverishly to fend off an
admirer.... I'm telling you! I was a very busy little girl having to fend
for myself!
I just sent Kathy an email to see if she remembers anyone else we ran around
with or any of our teachers. To be honest, I think we were in the same
class but not 100% sure. Maybe she can shed some light on the subject. I
could not have been more than 13 or 14 during the time "ya'll" lived there,
(I was born in 1949) and if this is the case, I like your take on Mike
Murray!! LOL It's a shame we can't find him so he can defend himself!
My gosh! How did you survive so many moves??? I thought we had it rough
living in two foreign countries but you all had to start over every couple
of years. No wonder you have put down roots...
No, our dad was not in coffee. But I truly wish he had been. Dad was with
British American Tobacco. The very product our government wants abolished
but taxes to death when it needs more money! Of the four of us, I am the
only one that picked up this nasty habit....and I didn't pick it up until I
went to college where the sins of choice were marjuana, LSD, cocaine or
heroine. I have tried quiting for at least 20 years unsuccessfully.....as
I type, I am chewing Nicorette gum to try to break the habit! Were you in
Managua during the years when the American school would load us onto a bus
and take us to my dad's plant to learn how cigarretts were made, as a field
trip, no less??? My, my, my. How times have changed!
