Bonnie... Tuesday, August 4, 2009 9:05 PM

Hi Dennis. It's been a long time. Why don't you share a couple of your most favorite or traumatic memories from Nicaragua and then everyone will pile on with their own......And as we all know, this is not Vegas. What is said here will NOT stay here!
Kathy- not sure if you want to be included in this ongoing saga so let me know if I need to take you off....Were you and I in the same class? Bruce and I were trying to remember. My Managua memory is truly fuzzy. Until Bruce started this I can honestly say I have not had time to reflect on the good old days!
My fondest memories were of going to Masachapa and Pochomil and just walking for miles and miles and miles...bonfires on the beach....turning cartwheels....shishkabobs...picking up sand dollars and throwing them back in the ocean...deep sea fishing. When I try to explain to my sons and grandchildren that we had few if any toys in Nicaragua & Mexico because there was little, if any, merchandise to purchase, they sort of stare at me and truly cannot comprehend what it must have been like to entertain ourselves! In the end, I think our childhoods were much richer because we did not have all the crap to do the thinking for us!
