Tootsie... August 9, 2009 12:35 PM

First of all hello Dennis - since you are the newest Nica Day's friend to be added to this marathon of memories. I have a very clear memory of you as a really cute little boy, very smart and clever. It was very sad to learn from Bruce that Neil died so young. He was in many of my classes; my main memory was of him in some sort of lab doing experiments... Also, I remember a party at your house mainly of us older kids, but you were there. I remember thinking at the time that your parents seemed so together, your family so cohesive. See the Coverston family was a smoking, drinking, gambling family and I as the sensitive, quiet, shy child thought I'd rather have parents more like yours.... funny isn't it, what goes through our minds? From time to time I have tried to think of your last name and could not come up with it and so was so glad to have Bruce remind me... Please accept my heartfelt condolences about Neil...
I see there are many more emails from Kathy, Bruce and Bonnie - I am going to start from the oldest to newest so please be patient - this is my first chance to get on the computer at home for a while...
Favorite memories: Okay, I am going to confess what mine was... but please - no booing or hissing. I loved the Nejapa Country Club! Loved going there with friends, loved going by myself. The pool, bowling alley, pool table and tennis courts were used by me constantly. And this is embarrassing to tell, but I loved sitting up on the high diving board, clapping my hands and asking the waiters to bring me and/or friends bistec, frozens or Turrons, which they would do and climb up the stairs to the high diving board deliver them. I gave big tips on my dad's tab! Yum, I am getting hungry thinking about all of those delicious foods. We were spoiled or what???
I did not think the volcanic ash beaches were all that pretty - though it was fun to go, swim, play volleyball. And you might not know, but our parents used to take us to the beach or deep sea fishing to keep us out of parties at some of those wild American's houses...
Well, I can't wait to read the next 20 emails so... welcome on board Dennis and Kathy - Adios for now - Tootsie
