Bonnie... August 11, 2009 11:07 PM

Oh, Kathy! You have made me laugh so hard my stomach hurts! I could have told you way back then that the Coverston's knew not what we were doing!!! As I told someone, we were just trying to survive LA VIDA LOCA!
When we were trying to place Philip Pinson, you remembered the very formal "high tea" party at the British Residence. Like you, I now remember all the "lovely" crumpets, biscuits, etc...The other thing I remember was my mother threatening us with very sudden death if we did not behave like "ladies". She was oh so very good about that!
Bruce - when you started this mess, I asked you why you remebered me so well ....You told me that the Coverstons were "anchors" to you in the sense that we were there when you got to Managua and we were there when you left. That reminded me that when I "exploded" into small-town USA, I too had to find an "anchor" to "splain" a few things about southern customs and traditions to me.....LOL If it kills me I will write that book!
Cartucho.....was he a light colored horse? Sort of blond? After our years of horseback riding lessons I swore I would never touch another horse again...We were "forced" to ride horseback through the streets of Managua during parades. I remember random shots of gunfire in the street (that would be happy gun shots as opposed to revolution gun shots) which made the horses bolt. I think I was 8 or 9 then...
