The picture of you and the children is the one that most resembles my memory
of you in Nicaragua. And you look very dapper in the wedding picture. They
are all great pictures, though. And yes, I'd agree we all are looking a
little worse for wear but I for one, do not care. I'll try to send a
picture when I figure out how to do it. I'm treading water when it comes to
technology....thanks for sharing.
Indeed, we all believed the USA was a great nation doing good in Nicaragua.
Yes, hug = abrazo.....Kathie Sue and I sang in Nicaragua's National Choir
and Somoza attended these functions at times. My only other brush with the
Somoza family was the day Somoza's son drive up to our house in his black
limo and asked my mother if he could take me to the beach for the day. He
told her he had seen me dancing at the Casino Militar and wanted to get to
know me better....I was so proud of my mother when she told him that he
could not take me to the beach...This incidenet happened, by the way, around
the Mike Murray "era".
Screenplay? I am about to write a book! I mentioned to Kathy that my
college roommate is now in the publishing industry and she strongly
suggested I write a book about both my experiences in Nicaragua/Mexico and
then returning to the USA after being gone 2 generations. If it had not
been for a funny life, I'd have no life at all! You can't make up the
experiences we all had and witnessed!
