Hey Bruce - yes I remember your letters - think I still have one
somewhere. I am a letter keeper!
You too have had to say goodbye to your parents... I am now the oldest
living member of my family. I call it being "on deck." My parents moved
to Hopkinsville KY before the revolution and subsequent earthquake -
Paul Hoar volunteered down there after the earthquake. I think they
lost their parent's house, down from Somoza's Palace, after the
revolution - I do not think they ever got it back from the Sandinistas -
though they tried mightily. My parents only rented down there...so no
property to lose... Walter Hoar died years ago, Anita Hoar died just
last summer. Kathie Sue and Paul took care of all of our parents in
their final months... She and Paul are saints... They also took care of
our Aunt Beth... Kathie Sue is the only one of us girls that does not
work.
It is great your sister Kathy has been married to same man - Kathie Sue
and Bonnie have done the same. My baby sister Melissa has been divorced
once.
You and I have followed a similar path in the line or marriage. I too
have divorced twice. I say the Institution of Marriage does not suit
me...
Yep, keep busy (tennis, Zumba, Djembe Drumming, Community projects etc)and enjoy
life... You already know I am a regulator for the KY DOI in the area of
health insurance - also a Mediator (my cousins in Mexico found my
picture on the KEMP website). One cannot hide! It is great to hear
from you. Say hello to Kathy!!
I have one son, John, from my first marriage. He lives in Hawaii, Maui
to be exact, with his companion of over 16 years. Sadly she is fighting
for her life - ovarian cancer... I may be going out there before too
long. No grandkids... But many grand nieces and nephews.
Kathie Sue and Paul live in Orlando, Bonnie in Shelbyville and Missy in
Hopkinsville, both in Kentucky.
I am in touch with Candy Perry, Cindy Davis, Janie, Peder and Tommy
Jacobson, Tom Raymond & Sherry Baker. Did you know any of them? I will
be glad to send you any email addresses I have. Of course in touch
with Peter, Paul and Francis Hoar. I think Bonnie is in touch with
Nadine too. Tom Raymond has a copy of an ANS yearbook and has offered to
lend it to me... I may take him up on the offer & will share with you -
upon penalty of death if it is not returned. LOL
I have tried to think of Neal's last name forever... Thank you, Gruwell
- no, I had no idea of his death at just 27 - what happened? Please say
hello to Dennis for me, I remember him well, liked both of those boys.
Mike Murray, I remember well also - had a crush on him...he went steady
with my sister Bonnie. Carole Case is starting to come back into focus.
I spent most of my high school years at Leelanau in Michigan and so
missed out on some of the Nica gang...
During the hurricane I heard Bob Edwards (NPR man not my ex husband)
interview Tommy Jacobson about his hotel in Honduras - it seems Tommy
had let his employees and families ride it out in the hotel - made a
makeshift shelter out of it... Sounds just like his parents - always
helping out...
I moved to Kentucky after my divorce from Bob Edwards in Baton Rouge and
really love Frankfort. I have lived here longer than anywhere, ever in
my life... I live in the shadow of the Capitol dome in a 1920's
bungalow, in the historic district, that I have fixed up - so well, that
it was on a tour of homes four years ago and recognized by our
neighborhood association just this week for an addition I put on... It
really is not THAT GREAT but it is plenty nice enough for just me.
This is all I can think of at the moment, thanks for getting in touch!
Adios Amigo - Tootsie
PS how did you get into Life Insurance? Austin seems like a great place
to live too... How big is it?
